West Bengal Government to build IT Hub in North Bengal
West Bengal Government will take an initiative to build IT Hub in North Bengal in the style of Rajarhat. That was announced by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on the stage of the World Bengal Trade Conference. She took this process forward in the ministerial meeting at Nabanna on Thursday. In the meeting, the Chief Minister said that information technology industrial center and IT Hub will be developed in North Bengal. In this regard, the Chief Minister has given special responsibility to senior IPS officer and Secretary of Information Technology Department, Rajeev Kumar.
It is known that land survey work has already started in North Bengal. Documents has been prepared in Alipurduar-Jalpaiguri, survey has also started in Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Miri. According to Nabanna sources, the Chief Minister has ordered the Secretary of Information Technology Department Rajeev Kumar to prepare a draft proposal in this regard. Rajeev Kumar will draft. Oversee the entire process.
At the World Bengal Trade Conference, the Chief Minister had announced that North Bengal and hills are ideal for developing an IT hub. She is relying on the reliable IPS to create that industrial taluk in the style of Rajarhat. Former Police Commissioner of Kolkata and currently serving as ADG of CID, IPS Rajib Kumar is a confidant of the Chief Minister. He is so much close to her that Mamata Banerjee publicly sat on dharna for him. Even during the CBI’s tussle with Rajeev Kumar, the state administration gave full support to this officer in Kolkata Police’s dukedom. According to the draft made by Rajiv, the work of the northern IT hub will be done.
The Chief Minister will visit North Bengal next month. She can discuss it with the district magistrates at that time. The proposed land can also be seen on the ground. An official announcement may also be made at that time.
