Justice Amrita Sinha’s husband write a letter to President of India against CID
Allegation of mental torture against CID by summoning for questioning. Calcutta High Court Justice Amrita Sinha’s husband Pratap Chandra Dey also claimed that he was being pressured to give false statements against his wife. He wrote letters to President Draupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal, Governor CV Ananda Bose and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. Earlier, he had also written to Kolkata Metropolitan Magistrate Courts Association in this regard.
CID summoned the judge’s husband for what reason? Recently, a widow in her 60s and her daughter complained that her grandfather’s family is trying to evict her from the ancestral property despite having legally acquired it. He further complained that he was beaten up. The proof of which is in the CCTV footage. He filed a criminal case against the relatives. The judge’s husband was fighting the case on behalf of his relatives. The old woman claimed that the lawyer tried to influence the investigation by using the position of the wife. The old woman complained more, the investigator was called to the office of justice.
The woman also alleged that she was bullied. The old woman approached the High Court seeking an investigation into the allegations and the safety of her family. The complainant approached the Supreme Court. The court ordered a CID investigation. Later, however, the Supreme Court said that no additional steps can be taken in this case. At the beginning of December, the court informed that necessary steps can be taken to settle the complaint. CID took action after that. The judge’s husband was summoned to Bhavani bhawan.
The judge’s husband alleged that not a single question was being asked regarding the case for which he was being summoned. Instead, he is trying to know various information about his wife i.e. Justice Sinha. It is also alleged that an attempt is being made to force a false statement in the name of Justice Sinha. The judge’s husband also claimed that the house and car are being lured by giving false statements. Pratap Babu expressed his anger against the CID in the letter raising this complaint.
