IPS Jasprit Singh accused Suvendu Adhikari in Khalistani case
The entire country has been up in arms against the ‘Khalistani’ slur against the Sikh IPS officer. Harjinder Singh Dhami, president of Shiromani Gurudwara’s Prabandhak Committee of Amritsar, Punjab, made an explosive complaint against the Suvendu Adhikari. He accused the BJP leadership of ‘character assassination’ of Jasprit Singh. He also demanded strict punishment for the accused.
Harjinder Singh Dhami wrote on the X handle, “Deliberately characterization of Jasprit Singh, a Sikh IPS officer from Bengal, by BJP leaders. I apologize. Politicians who think like this should not forget how much Sikhs have sacrificed for the country’s freedom and security. They don’t need any certificate. They know how to fulfill their national duties.” He did not stop here. Pointing fingers at the central government, Dhami demanded punishment of the accused. He wrote, “Such people are trying to create an atmosphere of violence in the country. But the government is silent. Those who are doing this should be severely punished.”
Meanwhile, opposition leader Suvendu Adhikari has repeatedly claimed that he or his party did not taunt ‘Khalistani’. Disproving the BJP MLA’s claim, police officer Jasprit Singh said clearly that Shubhendui called him a Khalistani. Trinamool State General Secretary Kunal Ghosh posted the video of the intelligence officer’s interview on his social media handle. Yesterday ADG South Bengal Supratim Sarkar also made the same claim and warned of legal action. It goes without saying that the danger of the opposition leader of Bengal is increasing due to the way protest voices are being raised naturally throughout the country.
